The Ministry of Labour and Employment and the Social and Solidarity Economy is in charge of:

  • The overall employment policy;
  • The labour law and working conditions;
  • Authorizations required by the provisions of the Labor Code;
  • Management of the National Conciliation Office (ONC);
  • Management of the Labor and Mining Inspectorate (ITM);
  • Initiatives for the struggle against stress, mobbing and moral harassment and at work;
  • Monitoring the application of labor law, including cross-border detachments;
  • Combating illegal labor and social dumping;
  • Mining legislation.
  • Public employment service and national employment administration;
  • Financial management via the Employment Fund;
  • Management of the Employment Development Agency;
  • Management of the Special Commission for the Review of Unemployment Benefits and Disability Benefits
  • Management of the Joint Committee on Reclassified Workers
  • Coordination of the National Policy for Vocational Guidance and Guidance throughout Life
  • Liasing with the European Social Fund
  • Liaising with the Employment Committee of the European Union European Union (EMCO).
  • Disabled workers; Management of the Orientation and Reclassification Commission (COR)
  • International cooperation, and
  • Unemployment benefits.
  • Coordination of Corporate Social Responsibility policies for enterprises
  • Relations with the International Labor Organization (ILO);
  • Social Dimension of Globalization;
  • Liasing with the OECD Employment Committee (ELSAC)
  • Liaising with the Council of Europe (Labor and Employment Policy).
  • Representation of the Government on the Boards of Directors of the European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions and the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work.
  • Management of the Standing Committee on Labor and Employment (CPTE).
  • Management of the Labor Market and Employment Study Network (RETEL).
  • Relations with the Chamber of Employees.


 


 

Local

Local authorities – municipalities

Local authorities are responsible for:

  • Cooperating with the national employment administration;
  • Employment promotion, e.g. by participation in local partnerships and the assessment of local potentials for job creation;
  • Municipal labour market services and day-to-day services ensuring better possibilities for local employment;
  • Employability measures funded from own budgets, and
  • Since recently, deconcentrated offices of Public Employment Service at local level.
