The Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Sustainable Development is responsible for:

  • The legislation, planning and implementation of major transport infrastructure projects;
  • The overall planning policy;
  • International and interregional cooperation (including EGTCs, TEN-T and CEF), and
  • Natural parks.

 

The Ministry of Mobility and Public works is likewise responsible for:

  • Regulations concerning international road transport;
  • Authorizations for the international carriage of passengers and goods by road
  • Authorizations for international passenger transport
  • Multimodal policy and combined transport logistics
  • Intermodal terminals
  • Administration of technical investigations
  • Airport regulation
  • International navigation and air transport
  • Aviation safety and security
  • Civil aviation directorat
  • Air navigation administration

 

 

Local

Local authorities are responsible for:

  • Local planning policy, including the establishment and implementation of local planning and urban development, and
  • Providing their opinion in the planning phase of concrete projects (consultation rights).
