Central
The Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Sustainable Development is responsible for:
- The legislation, planning and implementation of major transport infrastructure projects;
- The overall planning policy;
- International and interregional cooperation (including EGTCs, TEN-T and CEF), and
- Natural parks.
The Ministry of Mobility and Public works is likewise responsible for:
- Regulations concerning international road transport;
- Authorizations for the international carriage of passengers and goods by road
- Authorizations for international passenger transport
- Multimodal policy and combined transport logistics
- Intermodal terminals
- Administration of technical investigations
- Airport regulation
- International navigation and air transport
- Aviation safety and security
- Civil aviation directorat
- Air navigation administration
Local
Local authorities are responsible for:
- Local planning policy, including the establishment and implementation of local planning and urban development, and
- Providing their opinion in the planning phase of concrete projects (consultation rights).
