The Minister for Energy, Mines, Water and the Environment is responsible for

  • Developing policy and law in the field of electricity and Renewable Energy; oil and gas;
  • Managing information and communications in the sector;
  • Collaborating with partners in the sector;

 

The National Office of Electricity and Water Supply  is responsible for

  • The generation, transmission and distribution of electrical energy;
  • Managing the power demand of the kingdom;
  • Managing and developing the transmission network;
  • Expanding rural electrification;
  • Developing renewable energy.


Regional Level

Regions are responsible for

  • Electrification of remote villages.
     

Province and prefectures are responsible for

  • Contributing towards access electricity in rural areas

  • Electricity distribution
