Central Government

 

The Minister for Employment and Social Affairs is responsible for

  • Developing and implementing government policy, law and regulations in the areas of employment, labour protection, social protection of workers;
  • Promoting negotiations among social partners, facilitating and participating to the settlement of labour disputes;
  • Conducting research for the promotion of employment, labour and social protection of workers;
  • Defining actions and measures for expanding employment opportunities;
  • Facilitating employment abroad and dealing with the application of employment policies and social security;
  • Cooperating with international and regional organisations and participating in regional or bilateral, multilateral negotiation;
  • Implementing social protection and unemployment insurance measures;
  • Implementing employment promotion programmes

The Minister for the Economy and Finance and the Minister for Industry, Trade and New Technologies.

  •  Design the strategies for developing industry, commerce, new technologies, and their translation into operational programmes.

The National Agency for the Promotion of Employment and Competencies is a public service company that supports job seekers looking into entering the labour market. It is an active intermediary in the labour market.

The Agency for the Promotion and Social and Economic Development of the Prefectures and Northern Provinces, the Agency for the Promotion and Social and Economic Development of the Prefectures and South Provinces, and the Agency for the Promotion and Economic and Social Development of the Prefecture and the provinces of Orientale the Kingdom Region" are under the Prime Minister and are responsible for social and economic development projects in these areas.

 

Regional Level

 

Regions are responsible for

  • Promoting employment within the framework of the national guidelines;
  • Developing the regional economic and social development plan in line with the national development plan;
  • Tanking measures to promote private investment; 
  • Encouraging the implementation of private investment, particularly by establishing and organising industrial areas and business areas;
  • Deciding on the region's participation in regional or interregional semi-public companies;
  • Proposing public law measures to promote the development of the region once these measures exceed the remit of that region or the resources or those available to it;
  • Suggesting measures related to the choice of investments in the region by the state or any other legal entity governed by public law


Prefectures or provinces are responsible for

  • the economic and social development plan in line with the national plan;
  • initiating any measures relating to promoting employment, 
  • suggesting measures relating to promoting employment;
  • promoting investment, in particular building or helping to lay out, equip or promote of business areas; 
  • deciding on the establishment of and participation in semi-public companies and undertakings of prefectural or provincial interest.
  • suggesting measures relating to promoting investment and improving the business environment.

 

 

Local Government

 

Municipalities are responsible for

  • the municipality's economic and social development plan in line with the national plan;
  • initiating measures to encourage and promote the development of the local economy;
  • proposing to the state and other legal entities governed by public law measures to be undertaken to promote the economic development of the municipality once these measures exceed its remit or resources or those available to it.
