The Ministry of Infrastructure (Land Transport Directorate) is responsible for:

  •  Drawing up transport policy and legislation in the fields of:
    • Railway transport;
    • Road transport
    • Cableway installations;
    • Traffic safety;
    • Supervision of public transport;
    • Licensing and permits;
    • International agreements, co‑operation, and EU legislative proposals.

The Ministry of Infrastructure (Air and Sea Transport Directorate) is responsible for:

  • Drawing up transport policy and legislation in the fields of:
    • Air transport;
    • Maritime and inland water transport. 

 

Local

Local authorities are responsible for:

  • The construction, maintenance, and regulation of local public roads and public ways;
  • The regulation of traffic in the municipality;
  • The regulation of local public transport as well as development and maintenance of related infrastructure
