Slovenia Employment

Central

The Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities is responsible for:

  • Drawing up employment policy and legislation;
  • Drawing up acts and other regulations governing labour, labour rights, equal opportunities, and employment;
  • Development and implementation of strategic goals in relation to the labour market development;
  • Unemployment insurance and grants for vocational training;
  • Designing and conducting procedures for implementing active employment policy measures;
  • Drawing up and implementing projects aimed at participating in international programmes;
  • Preparing analyses, reports, and other information on employment in the country;
  • Supervising the work of the Employment Service of Slovenia;
  • Co-operating with the bodies of the European Social Fund; and
  • International co-operation.

 

Local

Local authorities are responsible for:

  • Establishment and maintenance of vocational training centres;
  • Creating conducive local environments for job creation and entrepreneurship;
  • Creating favourable conditions for the economic development of the municipality.
