Central

The central Government is responsible for:

  • Drafting long-term strategy for tourism development;
  • Strategic planning of tourism activities;
  • Developing state tourism policy and managing its implementation;
  • Supervising providers of tourism services;
  • Representing the interests of tourists in cases of bankruptcy of a provider of tourism services;
  • Working out proposals regarding the development of resorts and resort areas.

 
Local

 
  • Local authorities are responsible for:Creation of conditions for the development of business and tourism, and promotion of such activities;
  • The promotion of the tourism business as a tool for job creation and employment;
  • Developing, adopting, and implementing municipal tourism development programs (strategies) and municipal tourism and recreation schemes and projects;
  • Developing and implementing projects of public tourism and recreation infrastructure, such as municipal tourist information centres;
  • Implementing the measures necessary for the protection and development of recreational areas, tourist activities in these areas as well as managing accounting of these recreational areas and approving regulations related to the use of the territories for recreational purposes;
  • Marketing of tourism services and tourism resources located in the municipality's territory;
  • Exercising the right to restrict the construction, repair, reconstruction, and fitting works in resorts and on resort territories during the tourism season.
