Social policy is decided at the national level, including work and professional relations, social security, social promotion and migration. More specifically, the Ministry is in charge of:
Social research; - Development of appropriate legislation and policies;
- Develop projects tackling solidarity, equal opportunities, and combatting social exclusion;
- Consolidate and reform social security schemes;
- Promote participation in civil society;
- International cooperation; and
- Information and communication.
Regional
The regional social affairs departments are devolved administrations answering to the ministry[1].
