Central

This area is managed at national level, by the Ministry of Culture. The work is organised around the following cultural sectors: arts, heritage, audio-visual arts, theatre, music and dance, fine arts, cultural work. The Ministry oversees the National Library and the National Centre for Translation.


The Audio-Visual Communication Commission is responsible for the regulation and
development of the audio-visual communication sector and ensures freedom of
expression and information, and the establishment of a pluralistic media sector that
functions with integrity.​

Regional

The regional commissionerships for culture are devolved administrative authorities under the authority of the ministries concerned.
Article 58 of Law No 92-122 of 29 December 1992 on the finance law for 1993 stipulates that in each governorate, a public administrative institution will be set up, entitled a regional commissionership for culture, with legal personality, financial autonomy and a budget attached to the state budget, under the authority of the Ministry of Culture.
