  • The implementation of the procedure for recognition of the right to asylum and decision-making in the first instance.
  • Asylum law;
  • Border security;
  • Extraordinary measures to monitor and manage the on-going migrant crisis;
  • National strategies and monitoring frameworks;
  • Risk assessments;
  • Relations with international and regional bodies over transit migration;
  • Issuance of visas.

 

Local

Local authorities are responsible for:

  • Accommodating recognised refugees and persons under humanitarian protection depending on their economic development and on the number of their inhabitants.
  • Other reception measures for asylum seekers and transit migrants.
