  • There are no active railways though the central government is responsible for considering re-instating former lines in the context of consumer demand;

The governorates and districts oversee the implementation of national government transport policy in their region. They are involved jointly in preparing and implementing each project with the Ministry of Public Works and Transport and the Council for Development and Reconstruction[1].
