The objectives of the central government in the culture sector are to:

  • Deepen pride and loyalty to the Arab-Islamic culture and publicize it, and to contribute to spread the word, and highlight the role of Jordan in her career;
  • Deepen pride and loyalty to the national culture in Jordan, and establish it through a review of the national heritage of thought, science, literature, arts;
  • The development of Jordan's human creations and launched in various fields;
  • The development of a comprehensive national culture in the UK confirming its identity as a culture: a Jordanian, Arab, Islamic, humane;
  • Promote freedom of cultural creativity and work to free it from dependence;
  • Defining Jordanian culture through publications, translation, seminars, conferences, festivals, and exhibitions;
  • The consolidation of the democratic concept of all that it represents a commitment to human rights, freedom of expression and opinion as guaranteed by the Constitution;
  • Promote interest in Arabic eloquence and employment in the areas of all life;
  • Promote cooperation and provide support and care institutions, public and private cultural bodies.
  • National collection of manuscripts, documents and saved and indexed;
  • Create centres, theatres, cultural, artistic and popular museums in various parts of the Kingdom;
  • Provide public libraries and school libraries and academic publications
  • Maintaining and promoting cultural heritage sites.

 

Local

Jordanian cultural advancement builds on the capacity of local communities to manage cultural resources so as to influence the quality of human life with respect for cultural diversity and the embodiment of the values ​​of dialogue and respect for each other.[1]
Local government units support and promote local tribal cultures with a view to the Tourism sector.

Ministry of Culture

Cultural Heritage sites are managed by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.
