Central level
The central government is responsible for:
- Projects in areas of responsibility under the North Sea-Mediterranean Corridor and the Mediterranean Corridor;
- The drafting of planning policy after consultation of the local authorities;
- State-Region planning contracts;
- Transport Networks, maintenance and developments.
Regional and intermediate level
Regional authorities are responsible for:
- The elaboration of the regional scheme for planning, sustainable development and equality of territories (SRADDET);
- State-Region planning contracts;
- Maintenance of TEN network roads, railways, ports, and airports in areas of responsibility.
Intermediate level
Departmental authorities are responsible for:
- Rural equipment aid programme;
- Associated State-Region planning contracts;
- The planning, maintenance and use of water resources.
Local level
Municipal authorities are responsible for:
- Regional planning (joint municipal boundary initiatives);
- Town planning, including the preparation of territorial consistency schemes, local town planning issue of building permits and other authorisations concerning occupation of the land.
