The Ministry of Labour, Social Protection and Family has a Social protection division which regulates:

  • Insurance Policies;
  • Social policy;
  • Policies for social protection of people with disabilities;
  • Residential institutions and Rehabilitation Service;
  • Policies to protect the family and children's rights.

The Moldova 2020 National Development Strategy aims to reform the pension programme, ensuring a decent post-retirement income for all.

Local

Local municipalities (Level 1) are responsible for:

  • Granting housing and other types of facilities for socially vulnerable, as well as for other categories of the population.
  • Distribution of social grants, pensions and other types of social insurance payments.
