The Ministry of Culture is responsible for:

  • Development and implementation of legislation to protect and promote culture and heritage;
  • General direction of cultural policy
  • Cultural Heritage Directorate of the Directorate General;
  • Directorate arts, art education and cultural industries in the DG;
  • Co-ordinating foreign aid, multi-lateral and bi-lateral co-operation projects, relations with EU cultural programmes;
  • Managing institutions including:
  • Concert institutions
  • Theatrical institutions
  • Artistic education institutions
  • Libraries
  • Museums
  • Managing and monitoring:
  • Publishers
  • Printing Companies
