Central

Central Government is responsible for:

  • monitoring labour market demand
  • identifying labour demand and supply.
  • Devising and implementing labour market activation programmes.​

Regional

Governorates have the capability to devise and implement labour market measures in their areas of responsibility however no other regional competencies have been identified.

Local

There are 307 labour offices throughout Egypt where public and private institutions are required to report all vacancies and staff changes. While these fall under central management, it is the mechanism that local governments rely on for employment regulation and measures.
