Central

​The central government is responsible for:

Youth policy

  • The overall policy;
  • The 2013-17 Strategy for the State Youth Policy of the Republic of Armenia
  • Grant applications for measures in the youth sector;
  • Coordinates the youth policy on behalf of the youth;
  • Cooperates with NGOs and other stakeholders;
  • Cooperates with international organisations (including European) and donors.
  • Youth Action Plans.
  • Development of youth employment system,
  • Creation of conditions for active and effective participation in socio-economic life;
  • Development of tourism and international youth cooperation;
  • Information provision in support of the youth work system;
  • National Youth Council of Armenia.

Sports policy

  • The overall sports policies;
  • Management of investments and sports programmes;
  • Financial support;
  • Anti-doping measures and policies;
  • Scientific and Research Institute of Physical Culture and Sports
  • Sports Medicine;
  • Sports National Federations
  • Olympic Committee and support for the national Olympic Team.

 

Regional

Regional bodies (the governors) carry out regional policy determined by central government. Other than fulfilling central level competencies within their area of responsibility, governors are responsible for co-ordinating local authorities (communities) in their region and providing a line of communication between the local and central levels of government.

 

Local


The Chief of a Community shall exercise the following mandatory power

  • Organize the activity of health and sport enterprises and organizations of the community's subordination

The Chief of a Community shall exercise the following voluntary powers:

  • Promote development of physical culture and sports in the community, carry out construction of sport grounds and other training structures, create recreation zones.
