The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is responsible for:

• Developing and implementing agriculture policy in accordance with the EU Common Agriculture Policy;
• Land management;
• Promoting the transformation of agrarian structure;
• Recovery and protection of agricultural land;
• Environmental engineering;
• State funding;
• Information related to agriculture, rural development, and agricultural markets;
• Organic farming;
• Monitoring and controlling of the activities of the National Centre for Support to Agriculture (Krajowy Ośrodek Wsparcia Rolnictwa), which manages agricultural real estate belonging to the state treasury, issues permits for trade in arable land, and promotes Polish agricultural products abroad;
• Monitoring of the Agency for Restructuring and Modernisation of Agriculture (Agencja Restrukturyzacji i Modernizacji Rolnictwa - ARiMR) (under the Ministry is the accredited paying agency for EU and national funds.

Regional

Regional authorities are responsible for:

• Regional Inspectorates;
• Regional Offices of the Agency for Restructuring and Modernisation of Agriculture
• Regional branches of the National Centre for Support to Agriculture
• Maintaining records of agricultural producer groups and the controls of these groups

The Office of the Marshal of Voivodship is responsible for

• Collecting applications and selecting projects for funding within the framework of Rural Development Programme
• Cooperating with Inspectorates, Chambers of Agriculture, etc.

Intermediate level

County authorities are responsible for:

• Making decisions concerning reclamation and land management;
• Supervising Local Offices of the Agency for Restructuring and Modernisation of Agriculture

Local

Local authorities are responsible for:

• Issues related to protection of agricultural and forest lands;
• Expressing opinions on agricultural land forestation.
• Organising and conducting agricultural censuses;
