The National Parliament established a mechanism of scrutiny of subsidiarity within the framework of the Early Warning System as well as general scrutiny system within the political dialogue. In both cases, the National Parliament should consult the Legislative Assemblies of the Autonomous Regions whenever the European initiative under scrutiny refers to a matter that falls within the competence of the Autonomous Regions. So far, the Regional Parliaments of the Autonomous Regions have been consulted about three European initiatives within the Early Warning System as well as within the framework of the political dialogue concerning the Specific Measures for agriculture in the outermost regions of the Union, the maritime strategy for the Atlantic Ocean Area and the outermost regions of the EU.
