National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement (legal entity under public law)

  • Authorises and/or accreditation of educational institutions

State Accreditation Service For Educational Institutions,

  • Approves higher education institutions accreditation statute and
  • May request the state accreditation service for educational institutions to revoke accreditation.

National Examinations Center

  • Administers the national exams and
  • Manages the admission and enrolment into the higher education institutions of Georgia

Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara and the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia

  • Implement state policy in the field of general education

  • License, monitoand finance of early and preschool education establishments as well as endorsing personnel and human resource recruitment;
  • Create of the municipality-owned pre-school and extramural educational institutions and provision of their functioning;
  • Support schools to effectively perform their activities;
  • Implement educational and tutoring programmes ;
  • Provide pupils with coordinated social and medical services;
  • Provide for the general education by the pupils expelled from schools or those who are unable to attend lessons and taking measures to ensure school attendance; and
  • School transportation.
