The Hungarian associations nominate representatives to the Committee of the Regions and the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe (CLRAE), proportionally to the respective size of the association. The CoR delegation is composed of six representatives from the Counties and six from the Municipalities.

 

The city of Budapest has a liaison office established in Brussels.

 

The National Federation of Municipal Governments (TÖOSZ), the Federation of Hungarian Local Governments (MÖSZ) and the National Association of Small Cities (KÖOÉSZ) are members of the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CEMR). The national associations of local and regional authorities as well as individual Counties and Municipalities also cooperate with the CLRAE.

 

In addition, 15 Counties are members of the Assembly of European Regions (AER).
