  • The implementation of primary health care;

The Municipalities of Mitrovicë/Mitrovica North, Graçanicë/Gracanica, Shtërpcë/Štrpce have competence for the provision of secondary health care, including:

  • The registration and licensing of health care institutions;
  • Recruitment;
  • The payment of salaries, and
  • The training of healthcare personnel and administrators


Responsible ministries/bodies

  • Ministry of Health
  • Secondary services are offered by Pristina University Hospital, five regional and four city hospitals. Tertiary services are specialized services offered through health institutions associated with the Pristina University
  • Primary services are provided by the municipal administrative units through Family Health Centres
  • Mitrovicë/Mitrovicё/Mitrovica North, Graçanicë/Gracanica, Shtërpcë / Štrpce have the competence for provision of secondary health care
