Central

The central government is responsible for:

Youth policy

  • The overall policy;
  • Coordinates the youth policy on behalf of the youth;
  • Cooperates with NGOs and other stakeholders;
  • Cooperates with international organisations (including European) and donors.
  • National Youth Strategy;
  • Youth Action Plans.
  • Patriotic education;
  • Development of youth employment system,
  • Creation of conditions for active and effective participation in socio-economic life;
  • Promotion of healthy lifestyles;
  • Development of tourism and international youth cooperation;
  • Information provision in support of the youth work system

Sports policy

  • The overall sports policies;
  • Management of investments and sports programmes;
  • Institutional reform;
  • Financial support;
  • Sports system organised with federations.
  • Anti-doping measures and policies;
  • Scientific and Research Institute of Physical Culture and Sports
  • Sports Medicine;
  • Olympic Committee and support for the national Olympic Team.​


Regional

Regional authorities are responsible for:

Youth policy

  • The implementation of the National Youth Strategy;
  • Cooperation with national and local level authorities.

Sports policy

  • Provision of sports facilities including football pitches, gyms, premises for sport, swimming pools, shooting ranges and other sports facilities.
  • Regional sporting events;
  • Devise and implement regional physical education programmes;
  • Devise and implement other measures in the sports sector on voluntary basis. Regional executive committees have autonomy in this provided it is in line with national policies and the public interest.


Local

Local authorities are responsible for:

Youth policy

  • The implementation of the National Youth Strategy;
  • Cooperation with the Youth Directory.

    Sports policy
  • The organisation of sport and leisure activities;
  • The administration of the respective institutions.
