Report on the CoR consultation on the upcoming Second European Agenda on Integration
The consultation aimed to provide the European Commission with input from local and regional autorities with regard to the Second Agenda, and run from 18 to 31 March 2011. It targeted actors at the local and regional level, particularly public administrations, including members of the Europe 2020 Monitoring Platform and the Subsidiarity Monitoring Network. It was operated by means of a questionnaire prepared by the CoR services, seeking input on four main areas related to integration of migrants. In total, the consultation attracted 47 responses from entities in 11 Member States, which are hereby thanked again for their contributions.

The conclusions of the report show that local and regional authorities pursue objectives in partnership with other tiers of government and private stakeholders, but that they ask for more coordination from the European Level. Cities and regions don't see integration in the abstract, but approach migrants' integration within broader policies aiming to reconcile economic growth with solidarity, social inclusion and cohesion. It is expected that the Second European Agenda on integration will provide a sound framework for policy coordination and inspiration for local actions".
