Targeted Consultation: Application and effectiveness of EIA and SEA Directives

Mr José Macário Correia (PT/EPP), member of the DEVE commission and CoR rapporteur on the report on the application and effectiveness of the EIA and the SEA Directives [COM (2009) 378 final and COM (2009) 469 final respectively] invites the partner institutions of the CoR Subsidiarity Monitoring Network to participate in a targeted consultation on this subject matter.
 
On occasion of the revision of the EIA Directive, scheduled by the European Commission for the end of 2010, the CoR is issuing an opinion on this subject matter. Both EIA and SEA Directives are closely linked, and this is the reason why both documents are part of a single CoR opinion and therefore a single SMN targeted consultation.

The results of the consultation are going to feed in the CoR opinion on these two reports, which is currently in preparation within the DEVE commission and which will be discussed in the DEVE meeting of 23 February 2010. The final CoR opinion will be adopted at the Plenary Session of April 2010.
 
The consultation is open from 24 November 2009 until 8 January 2010. In order to participate, please fill in the questionnaire and submit it by the aforementioned deadline. You can do so either by email at subsidiarity@cor.europa.eu or by uploading it directly via the website of the CoR Subsidiarity Monitoring Network (please remember to be logged in).
