​As part of the CoR Subsidiarity 2014 work programme, an interactive workshop took place on 11 June. The aim was to follow up on the discussion and key messages from the 6th Subsidiarity Conference exploring new approaches and solutions to the challenges stakeholders (notably at regional level) face in the context of subsidiarity and proportionality monitoring. This workshop involved key partners from the Subsidiarity Monitoring Network, the Subsidiarity Steering Group and the Subsidiarity Expert Group as well as other relevant stakeholders, from EU institutions and national and regional parliaments, associations and academia. In a friendly atmosphere for a better exchange of views, experts debated during three rounds of discussions a different block of questions on pre-legislative and legislative subsidiarity and proportionality monitoring, their link with multi-level governance and the need for more and better awareness on subsidiarity in the actual EU context.
