Invitation to a stakeholder consultation by rapporteur Mr Domenico GAMBACORTA (IT/EPP)

​The Committee of the Regions (CoR) is drafting an opinion on the 4 legislative proposals amending EU waste directives, which the European Commission adopted 2 December 2015.
The rapporteur on the opinion, Mr Domenico GAMBACORTA (IT/EPP), President of the Province of Avellino in Italy, would like to invite representatives of local and regional associations and other stakeholders for a consultation and an exchange of views on the relevant topic of this opinion.

The consultation will take place on:

Tuesday 23 February 2016 between 15.00 and 17.00

The CoR Opinion is reacting to the legislative proposals of the European Commission which amend the Directives 2000/53/EC on end-of-life vehicles, 2006/66/EC on batteries and accumulators and waste batteries and accumulators, and 2012/19/EU on waste electrical and electronic equipment (proposal COM(2015) 593 final), the Directive 1999/31/EC on the landfill of waste (proposal COM(2015) 594 final), the Directive 2008/98/EC on waste (proposal COM(2015) 595 final) and the Directive 94/62/EC on packaging and packaging waste (proposal COM(2015) 596 final).

After a short introduction by the rapporteur, the rapporteur would be very keen to hear your views during the meeting. Participants will still receive prior to the meeting the first working document of the rapporteur in English.

The meeting will have English and Italian simultaneous interpreting. Please note that the rapporteur's mother tongue is Italian.
