Mrs Lacombe (FR/PES) rapporteur on the CoR own initiative opinion on "Combating Functional Illiteracy" invites the partners of the CoR subsidiarity monitoring network to consider her working document presented last week during the CoR Commission for Culture, Education and Research (EDUC) meeting. Partners of the CoR subsidiarity monitoring network interested in submitting their points of view are invited to do so before Friday 23 October 2009. All the contributions received will be directly forwarded to Mrs Lacombe and will be taken into consideration for the preparation of the draft opinion which will be presented at the meeting of the EDUC commission of 11 December 2009. The final CoR own-initiative opinion is scheduled to be adopted at the February 2010 plenary session.
