The Ministry of Education, Science and Sport is responsible for:

  • Drawing up and implementing education policy and legislation on the education of pre‑school children, secondary, higher vocational, and adult education, higher education, and science;
  • Informing the public on legislative issues;
  • Developing education programmes;
  • International networking and cooperation;
  • Social protection of pupils in pre‑school institutions, elementary schools (basic education), music schools, secondary schools, and adult education institutions.

 

Local

Local authorities are responsible for:

  • Construction and maintenance of educational facilities;
  • Managing a public network of elementary schools and secondary, vocational, and higher schools in their territories;
  • Creating conditions for adult education.
