Central government is responsible for:

• Royal Commission to review and update the national master strategy for the energy sector. The Royal Commission has formed subcommittees to cover three main sectors:
  § oil, electricity and natural gas,
  § renewable energy and energy conservation,
  § alternative and local energy 
• Providing crude oil and oil derivatives for consumers at lowest cost;
• Work on the high availability of electric power on an ongoing basis and to the best standards and specifications;
• The development and exploitation of domestic energy sources;
• To create opportunities for the private sector and encourage investment in the energy and mineral resources sector;
• Improve energy efficiency and use down to improve the quality of service to the consumer;
• The development of new and renewable energy sources and increase its contribution to the total energy mix;
• Easing the burden of imported energy and manufacturing costs for the state budget;
• Energy infrastructure.
