The participants of the annual EGTC event at the European Week of Regions and Cities had a chance to discuss cross-border investments, its potentials, achievements, and challenges. This very successful and highly interesting event was organized in cooperation with Mission Opérationnelle Transfrontalière (MOT).
The conference was opened by Raffaele CATTANEO, President of the COTER Commission of the European Committee of the Regions, and Jean PEYRONY, Director General of MOT.
The participants had the opportunity to hear about a number of interesting cross-border investment projects, such as the expansion of the Strasbourg tramway to Kehl (FR-DE), the investment potential in developing transport links in Gorizia/Gorica (IT-SI) and the "Top-Technology-Cluster" (BE-NL-DE).
Cross-border cooperation continues to struggle under the burden of challenging administrative red-tape, which can be difficult to navigate. Speakers from the Caisse des Dépôts and the European Commission shared their views on how to deal with these challenges.
