Raffaele Cattaneo (IT/EPP), President of the Regional Council of Lombardia, was elected Chair of the Commission COTER of the CoR on 12 February, for a mandate which will last till 2017.
Mr Cattaneo presented the annual working plan of the EGTC Platform during the COTER meeting of 2 March, in his quality of political coordinator of the Platform. "My objective is to consolidate the Platform, obtaining more results and more visibility of the Groupings, and integrating the whole cross-border community if possible" said Mr Cattaneo, "ensuring their eligibility in all the EU programmes".
Mr Cattaneo stated that he intends to work in close cooperation with the other EU institutions and with different organizations and associations on the ground, and announced his intention of presenting in 2016 a mid-term review of the long-term action plan of the EGTCs 2012-2020.
The draft working programme is available in all the EU languages. It will be presented during the meeting of the EGTC Platform on 3 March and will be adopted by the CoR Bureau on 15 April.
