Annual meeting of the EGTC Platform:

The 3rd Annual Meeting of the EGTC Platform will take place in Brussels on 25 February 2013 in the afternoon, chaired by the political coordinator of the Platform, Mr Herwig Van Staa (AT/EPP).

The Annual meeting will deal with the update about the inter-institutional works related to the revision of the EGTC Regulation, currently in co-decision between the European Parliament and the Council, and the mainstreaming of the EGTC in other EU policies. The topics selected for this meeting are transport and enterprise and industry.

The topics have been selected according to the Bureau decision 'The EGTC: Prospects for 2020: Action plan of the Committee of the Regions' adopted on 2 May 2012, on the basis of the conclusions of the Interinstitutional conference on EGTC and the 2nd Annual meeting of the EGTC Platform held in Brussels on 29 March 2012. According to these, the institutions should take action and work together to ensure the rapid adoption of the revised EGTC Regulation and the Committee of the Regions and the European Commission should cooperate to raise awareness among the European Commission's services regarding the EGTC's added value and potential.
