CoR - 4th Annual Meeting of the EGTC Platform

The EGTCs and the Strategy Europe 2020

The Platform of European Groupings of Territorial Cooperation celebrated its 4th Annual Meeting last 18 February in Brussels, chaired by Mr Herwig Van Staa.

The meeting dealt on the role and the examples of the EGTC in implementing the Strategy Europe 2020, in their respective territories and according to their statutory tasks. The meeting also tackled the strategic planning of the existing and future EGTC in the run-up to 2020

The annual study 'EGTC monitoring report 2013' was presented during the meeting. The study focused on the actions that the EGTC foresee during the new Cohesion Policy period 2014-2020.

The CoR President Mr Ramón Luis Valcárcel closed the meeting encouraging the EGTCs to continue working, and delivered the EGTC award 'Building Europe without borders 2014', to the Euroregion Pyrinees Mediterranean for the project Interreg IVB Sudoe 'Creamed'
