Tritia

​​EGTC TRITIA originated as a result of a partnership between Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

It has three members: Moravian-Silesian Region CZ, Silesian Voivodeship PL and Žilina self-government Region SK. EGTC TRITIA covers 6 500 000 inhabitants in a 24566 km² area.

EGTC TRITIA was established to facilitate and support cooperation between the PL-SK-CZ members. It aims to support social and economic cohesion within the border region mainly though intelligent implementation of programs and projects of territorial cooperation.

Changes in convention/statutes

The established members of the EGTC TRITIA were the 4 regions. On 1.1.2018 the member Opole Voivodeship PL left the Grouping.


Tasks

EGTC TRITIA carries out the following tasks:

  • ​identification, promotion and implementation of programmes, projects and joint actions in the framework of territorial cooperation in the following main areas:
    1. transport,
    2. economy,
    3. tourism,
    4. energy with a focus on renewable energy sources;

  • identification, promotion and implementation of programmes, projects and joint actions in the framework of territorial cooperation in the following additional areas:
    1. culture,
    2. environment,
    3. human resources, education, including close cooperation with universities,
    4. cooperation among public institutions including the of exchange of persons and experience and international internships,
    5. sport;

  • identification, promotion and implementation of programmes, projects and joint actions in the framework of territorial cooperation in the areas referred to in Regulation 1082/2006, i.e.:
    1. business support, in particular the development of SMEs and cross-border trade
    2. promotion and improvement of the joint protection of the natural resources and its joint management and prevention of natural and technological threats,
    3. promotion and improvement of the joint protection of cultural heritage;
    4. promotion of connections between urban and rural areas,
    5. reducing isolation through improved access to services and transport, information and communication networks and also to cross-border systems and tools that supply power and water, as well as waste management tools,
    6. promoting cooperation and networking of entities operating in the territory of the Grouping with a purpose of effective use of common infrastructure in sectors such as health, culture, tourism and education,
    7. promoting legal and administrative cooperation and cooperation among citizens and institutions on the territory of the Grouping.

Budget

€ 96,000 made up of annual contributions from the members.
