The overall objective of SVINKA Grouping of Territorial Cooperation Limited to achieve the objectives of the European regulations and the Laws provided in the Convention as laid down in the light of regulatory cooperation among its members , subject to the Member States in which the members are located in the European grouping of territorial cooperation activities of the law.
The overall objective of the Grouping , the European Union , Hungary and the Slovak Republic co- financing, through the implementation of programs in the areas of cooperation , the benefits of the Grouping legal personality exploited under the Convention within the boundaries of settlements , or of other areas affected by the activity in this area to implications , in addition to developing a common and joint development program to enable and promote the strengthening of economic and social cohesion , regional and rural development and the maintenance of cooperation among the members.
The Grouping aims to promote the cause of the development of cooperation between the various bodies lying on both sides of the Hungarian -Slovak border and territorial units operating in this area in the present Convention by improving the economic , social and territorial cohesion.
Another objective of the ongoing Grouping of cultural and economic life of the region in line with the needs of the population , taking into account the folk traditions , cultural values and their promotion of all ages in the society.
Purpose of the collaboration and the development of regional cooperation , regional and international non-governmental organizations , the necessary equipment and infrastructure , in addition to the various exchanges , organization and management experience in acquisitions . Another objective of the natural and architectural heritage preservation and protection of the environment to the forest.

Tasks (2015)
The task of the EGTC is to develop the members' territory with ecological and sustainable projects. However, the EGTC mentioned that it should not yet get involved in ETC.
Implementation of ERDF and ESF projects:
1) cooperation and know-how transfer between stakeholders in the fields of economy and environment;
2) support of infrastructure;
3) enhancement of the cooperation between research institutes;
4) environmental protection;
5) development and implementation of projects with a focus on the prevention of natural and technological risks.
Challenges or issues
The EGTC has to realise the first feasible competitive proposals.
