Pirineos Pyrénées EGTC

The objective of the Pirineos Pyrénées EGTC is to carry out and manage, from a sustainable development perspective, the territorial cooperation projects and actions approved by its members to reinforce economic and social cohesion.

In particular, the member entities undertake to develop all the necessary coordination actions for the management of the Portalet and Bielsa-Aragnouet cross-border crossings, to ensure the good condition and correct maintenance of the infrastructures.

To fulfil its objective, the EGTC has the following functions:

  • Promote the central Pyrenees as an international tourist destination under the name "Pyrenees", including marketing.
  • Develop a rational and innovative integration of local and tourist mobility.
  • Promote the development of the Pyrenean area within the framework of a territorial project that integrates the sustainable management of its cross-border communication infrastructures.
  • Commit to the development of mountain territories, assuming the current challenges: maintaining the population and adapting to climatic, economic and social changes that can appear there.
  • Involve local entities, associations and economic and social actors with cooperation and development projects in the territories.
