NOVUM

​​​​EGTC NOVUM results from a partnership between Poland and the Czech Republic, involving 5 mln inhabitants in a 37 652 km² area.

The Grouping was established in order to intensify, facilitate and promote Polish-Czech cross-border cooperation aimed at the strengthening of economic and social cohesion of the area covered by the Grouping functioning.


The founders and the members of the Grouping are:

  1. Lower Silesia Region, The Republic of Poland;
  2. Liberec Region, Czech Republic;
  3. Hradec Králové Region, Czech Republic;
  4. Pardubice Region, Czech Republic;
  5. Olomouc Region, Czech Republic;
  6. The Association of Polish Municipalities of Neisse Euroregion, The Republic of Poland;
  7. The Association of Polish Municipalities of Glacensis Euroregion, The Republic of Poland;
  8. Neisse Euroregion – Regional Association, Czech Republic;
  9. The Euroregion of the Borderlands of Bohemia, Moravia and Kłodzko Land – Glacensis Euroregion, Czech Republic.

Tasks

The following tasks are carried out by the Grouping:

  1. developing cooperation, extending the capacity and joint use of human resources and infrastructure, primarily in such sectors as tourism, culture, education and health care, and also for the needs of technology research and development;
  2. supporting and improvement of the joint protection of natural and cultural resources and their joint management, as well as preventing natural and technological risks;
  3. reducing isolation through improved access to transport, information and communication services and networks, as well as cross-border systems and facilities of water and energy supply and waste management;
  4. supporting entrepreneurship, primarily the development of small and medium enterprises, tourism, culture and cross-border trade;
  5. supporting and popularizing research, technological development and innovation;
  6. supporting and popularizing effective and coherent cross-border cooperation, including legal and administrative cooperation;
  7. promoting the integration of cross-border job markets;
  8. promoting local employment initiatives, gender equality and equal opportunities, trainings and social integration;
  9. supporting relations between urban and rural areas;
  10. ensuring cooperation, dialogue and the conditions enhancing political and social debate;
  11. facilitating the creation, application and implementation of projects within the framework of jointly prepared development strategy.

Budget

€ 120,000 from annual contributions from the members.
