The EGTC Archimed results from a partnership between Italy, Cyrpus, Spain and Greece, involving about 10 million inhabitants in a 75.000 km²'s area.
This EGTC has been established for two reasons.
Firstly, to enhance the interests of the people living in the Mediterranean islands at European level. Secondly, to create a stable platform for cooperation, helping its partners to plan. In the past, there has been sporadic, project-based cooperation.
