The Committee of the Regions is drafting an own-initiative opinion on "The review of the legislative framework of the EGTC Regulation" with Mr Núñez Feijóo as rapporteur. The opinion intends to be the first political input prior to the report on EGTC and proposals for the revision of Regulation 1082/2006/EC which the European Commission will issue in 2011.   The CoR will be holding a meeting in Brussels in order to exchange views on this opinion.

The CoR has already launched a consultation on this topic which remains open and available in all EU languages through it's portal www.cor.europa.eu/egtc. The results will be presented in Brussels on 6 October 2010 during the 8th edition of the Open Days (www.opendays.europa.eu).

At the meeting, the rapporteur Mr Núñez Feijóo will be represented by Mr Jesús GAMALLO AMER, his alternate, and by Mr José Manuel BLANCO GONZÁLEZ, appointed expert for the opinion and member of the EGTC expert group of the Committee of the Regions.
